A Cajun Man’s Swamp Tours and Adventures

Captain Billy Gaston conducts each tour through scenic bayous, showing birds, turtles, and alligators. Guests can expect a comfortable 49-passenger, covered vessel. Tours take place Monday – Saturday at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM. Alligators fed daily on time. Call for reservations.

Ala Bayou Terrebonne Christmas Boat Parade

A Christmas boat parade that begins at dusk in Bayou Terrebonne at Bourg Volunteer Fire Station. Local pleasure boats decorate with Christmas lights and parade down the bayou to the Humble Canal Bridge. People gather along the sides of the bayou to watch the parade. Families gather, and light fires line the bayou sides.

Ardoyne Plantation

Step back in time with this historic tour of a grand scale Victorian gothic sugarcane plantation. Although the mansion was not built until 1888, it has been continually lived in by the original builders family for 6 generations and contains ALL original family furniture, china and plantation memorabilia. Ardoyne Plantation house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as possibly the largest and most elaborate example of Rural Victorian Gothic Architecture in the state of Louisiana.

Pirate and Boots Festival

Keep Terrebonne Beautiful will hold a celebration in conjunction with Keep Louisiana’s Beautiful Love the Boot Week. The celebration will have vendor booths, music, activities for kids, and food. Pointe-Aux-Chenes Wildlife Management Area

With 35,000 acres of wetlands, this area is composed primarily of freshwater wetlands and provides an important habitat for wintering waterfowl of the Mississippi Flyway. 1828 Robert Ruffin (RR) Barrow purchased the property from James Bowie in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, near Houma. This property would later become Residence Plantation, named so because RR owned many plantations, but Residence Plantation was where he resided.
